Consumer goods manufacturer PZ Cussons is set to roll out a five-year plan that will see the firm introduce several new products into the market.

A week ago PZ Cussons launched three upgraded beauty and skin care products in Kenya kicking off the process aimed at diversifying and fighting off competition to grow its revenue streams.

East Africa managing director Sekar Ramamoorthy says the firm took one year to work on the new products and invested heavily in the development of products — Petroleum Jelly with Shea Butter and Venus Pure Glycerine.

The firm additionally plans to introduce the new products in other regional markets, including Rwanda and Uganda before the year ends.

“This is a five-year journey that we have begun with the introduction of an additional three products.

“We will be developing new products that are more affiliated to local needs by continuously studying the market and being more adaptable to the needs of the consumers,” said Mr Ramamoorthy.

He said the parent firm had invested in a world-class research station based in London as well as new technologies and innovations to support new product ranges.
