Legal services are highly inaccessible for most Nigerians, hence the innate distrust of the law that we all grew up with. But as technology adoption is rising in the country, it is inevitably dragging even the most traditional services along with it.

In the past one year, many tech startups have launched to change how Nigerians access the law. One of such startups is LegitNG.

LegitNG is a startup aiming to improve access to legal services and content in Nigeria. The LegitNG team, led by Enyioma Madubuike,  is leveraging on the advantage of technology to make Nigerian legal information and services available, affordable and accessible to anyone, anywhere in the world.

Anyone can come to the portal for different legal services like company incorporation, business name registration, incorporated trustees registration and foreign company incorporation. From experience, these services that LegitNG is trying to provide in a short period of time typically takes months to complete.

But perhaps the most interesting feature of the startup is Ask A Lawyer. Ask A Lawyer a portal for free access to a 24-hour legal consultancy. The portal was built to provide quick responses on Nigerian law related issues for people all over the world within 24 24 hours.

The company will officially launch on October 1st, but their website and services are already accessible to the public. Now, we can begin to learn our rights.
