Equity Market sustains uptrend for the third day in a row.

The Equity Market on Thursday gained 0.24%, sustaining uptrend for the third day in a row.  Similarly, market breadth closed positive, recording 24 gainers against 17 losers. 

In summary, the All Share Index (ASI) gained 100.46 absolute points, representing a growth of 0.24% to close at 42,258.78 points. Similarly, the Market Capitalization gained N36.05 billion, representing a growth of 0.24% to close at N15.17 trillion.

The upturn was impacted by gains recorded in medium and large capitalized stocks, amongst which are; TOTAL (+4.78%), UBA (+3.17%), FBNH (+3.14%), ACCESS (+1.57%), FLOURMILL (+1.38%), DANGFLOUR (+1.23%), ZENITHBANK (+0.79%), UBN (+0.74%), NESTLE (+0.58%), WAPCO (+0.49%) and ETI (+0.25%).

Foreign Exchange
The Naira at the inter-bank closed at N306.50 against Yesterday’s closing price. The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N360.06, traded high at N361.30 and eventually closed at N360.66, representing a 0.07% depreciation against Yesterday’s closing price. A total of $195.23 million was transacted through the I&E window today.
We expect the FX market to trade within existing range in the next session.   
Money Market
OBB and O/N rates closed at 9.83% and 10.17%, representing a 2.17% and 3.08% depreciation against Yesterday’s closing position. 
We expect the money market to trade within existing range in the next session.
