Lagos State Government has improved water supply in the State and warned residents against illegal connections to public water.

This was contained in a statement issued today by the Corporation’s Managing Director/CEO, Engr. Muminu Adekunle Badmus in his office, Ijora, Lagos.

The LWC boss said the heavy investment of the Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode on provision and delivery of potable Water supply to the residents of the State has started yielding result, with abundant water supply across the State.

He revealed that the water pipe bursts and leakages being experienced are as a result of infringement on LWC water mains and pipes during road constructions and by telecommunications service providers and illegal connection to LWC properties.

MD advised those working on Lagos roads to work with LWC where its facilities will be affected to prevent unnecessary damages being done to water mains and pipes to water wastages. He, therefore, warned the general public to stay away from fully charged water mains to avert loss of lives.

He further said the Corporation is presently increasing the tempo of production as the major waterworks are now working at their optimal designed capacity, and assured Lagosians that improved and uninterrupted potable water supply in the State has come to stay.

Engr. Badmus commended Governor Ambode for his proactive steps and efforts towards investing heavily on water to boost supply for the State residents and enjoined the general public, especially those that are yet to connect to public water to do so and enjoy water that conforms to World Health Organizations Standards.

While restating the States commitment to serving the people, the LWC boss implored residents to call LWC Customer Care lines on 07045973012, 07045973013 or visit any LWC zonal offices nearest to them for new water connections and report water pipe bursts, leakages, and wastages.
