…As REPL Hosts Technician Improvement Training
In an effort to continuously improve and update technical knowledge and skills of its staff for efficient service delivery, Ikeja Electric has partnered with REPL International, a leading manufacturer of power cable accessories, to organize a one-day refresher course on cable jointing for technical staff from various locations across the business.
The training, which focused on recent updates on Cable Jointing knowledge and skills, current best practices and technologies, was designed to ensure field teams remained up to date with industry trends.
Speaking of the benefits of the training to the participants, the Chief Technical Officer, Ikeja Electric, Engr. Sunday Oyewole said “the need for technical personnel to continuously update their knowledge and skills to stay in sync with technological developments in their field cannot be overemphasized. In today’s complex and fast-changing work environment, an over-reliance on ‘experience’ (past knowledge and exposure) can quickly lead to obsolesce as technical innovations continue to emerge”, he concluded.
Major topics covered in the training are cable properties and construction, practical cable termination, use of special tools for reliable joints & termination job and common reasons for cable failure and how to mitigate them.
