The Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce after a successful 57th Annual General Meeting has announced Otunba Oluwatoyin Akomolafe as the new National President to pilot the affairs of the Chamber for another three years.

The President, in his inaugural address at the 57th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Chamber held on 7th June, 2018 at the Metropolitan Club, Victoria Island, Lagos stated that he will focus on re-branding and revitalizing the image of the Chamber, balancing the American and Nigerian aspects of the organization as well as be modernizing our communications strategy.


I want to fully participate in all economic fora and partner with leaders and leading organizations that could propel us toward a successful future.  I also want this organization to commit to serving its members, providing more networking and business opportunities he added.

Otunba Akomolafe obtained a degree in the Department of Agriculture, University of Ibadan and on completion of his course he went straight into the business of import and export. He was later headhunted by the West Africa Portland Cement Company (WAPCO) in 1979 where he rose to the position of Western Regional Area Manager when he left in 1988. While under the employment of WAPCO, he never gave up on setting up his business. From 1989 he established Index Brook Limited with a vision to building it up into an integrated Oil and Gas company.

 
Otunba Akomolafe has devoted his career to nurturing Index Brook limited into a Group of Companies operating in different countries, providing consultancy services, project management, and engineering services to the major oil and gas companies in the industry and across the world, these companies include Index Brook Nigeria, Index Brook Guyana, Canyon Offshore Mozambique, Pasadena Exploration and Production, Index Brook Angola and Index Brook Ghana.

 
He is an active member of the Christian Friends Society, Arch Bishop Vining Memorial Church, Ikeja, Lagos; the Ikoyi Club; The Metropolitan Club; The Regents Park Club, London; The West Lake Country Club, Houston, Texas amongst other societies, social clubs, professional associations and non-profit organizations.

The Chamber also welcomed new members in an induction ceremony which followed the AGM. The NACC has over 1000 members spanning different sectors of the economy in 10 chapters across the country and in Houston, USA. This has enabled the Chamber to realize its lofty aims and objectives which includes the fostering of trade and commerce investment between Nigeria and the USA and liaising with the Nigerian Government and its agencies throughout the country on trade and industry related matters, further providing programs and services that improve the economic prosperity and sustainability of businesses. Members were assured of the Chamber’s commitment to constantly creating value to ensure return on their investment.
