United Capital Appoints New Group CEO

Africa’s renowned Investment Banking Group, United Capital Plc, has appointed Mr Peter Ashade, as its new Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Ashade’s appointment is coming on the heels of the retirement of the company’s Group CEO Mrs Oluwatoyin Sanni effective June 30, 2018.

Sanni served for 12 years ascending the position of the Group CEO in January 2014.

Under her leadership, United Capital showed impressive growth rate in revenue and profitability across its vital business segment, which made the company to win both national and international awards.

A more recent example is the 7 per cent increase in Q1 2018 profit before tax.

Until his appointment as the Group CEO, Ashade, is the CEO of Africa Prudential Plc.

He is an investment banker with over three decades of cognate experience in Nigerian capital market.

Under his leadership, the company acquired UAC Registrar and effortlessly integrated it with Africa Prudential Registrars (APR), transforming APR into a leading company on the Nigerian Stock Exchange.

Ashade resumes as Group CEO, United Capital, effectively July 1, and he is looking forward to embarking on this new journey and working with the company’s leadership and its many committed employees.

Ashade will be further supported by a crop of professionals who will oversee United Capital’s subsidiary companies: Tokunbo Ajayi, MD/CEO, United Capital Trustees.
