Ikeja Electric Canvasses Dialogue As Akowonjo Holds Customer Fair

Ikeja Electric has called on customers within Dopemu, Egbeda and Gowon Estate to engage in constructive dialogue as a means to resolving challenges which they experience across the network. This charge was given by the Business Manager of Akowonjo Business Unit, Engr Olanrewaju Yusuf during the customer fair recently organised by the BU, to address service and billing related issues affecting customers on the network.

In a brief remark, Yusuf called on residents to explore the multiple redress channels to make complaints or seek clarification when necessary. He further cautioned against molestation of staff on lawful duty noting that the company was committed to the safety of its employees. He also warned that Ikeja Electric would explore legal action in the event of an assault, molestation or attacking of IE staff and assets and urged the Community Leaders to engage dialogue always and discourage violence.

The event provided ample opportunity for IE to sensitize residents on safety issues, especially during the rainy season, while the Safety Lead, Moses Oyeniran also advised customers against meddling with IE electrical appliances and installations, citing the common practice of engaging unqualified technicians which posed the serious threat to life and property.
