Ghana FDA Applauds P&G On Quality Standards

Procter and Gamble (P&G) Nigeria, has been applauded for maintaining high standards in its operations and being in full compliance with total quality control measures at its Ibadan Plant, Oyo State. The Foods and Drug Authority, Ghana gave the applause during a week-long attachment and exchange Programme of the officials of the FDA at the plant.

Commenting after the visit, Larencia Etim, Ghana FDA Medical ServicesDepartment expressed delight at the standard of operation at P&G plant. He said, “We are a regulatory body yet, our visit to the P&G plant has provided us with invaluable knowledge and experience about processes, quality systems and industry standards especially with regards to fabric care industry. We are beyond impressed with the day-to-day operations and the kind of attention paid to each end product that comes out of the factory”.

On his part, SegunOlujimi, Ibadan Plant Manager said “What the Ghana FDA has witnessed is a clear indication and affirmation of the premium we place on product innovation, and an end to end quality. We are particularly grateful for the opportunity to build capacity for the FDA staff in quality systems and support in broadening their knowledge of the fabric care industry”.

This is the second visit of the Ghana FDA to the P&G plant after a similar visit in June 2017. The FDA is responsible for ensuring adequate and effective standards for food, drugs, cosmetics, household chemicals and medical devices in Ghana.
