Ikeja Electric’s QHSE Department Unveils 2019 Slogan

Buoyed by its commitment to ensuring safety and wellbeing of both employees, customers and the general public alike, the QHSE Department of Ikeja Electric led by Engr Jamiu Badmos has unveiled its Mission Slogan for 2019. The slogan, “Mission Zero-Take Ownership”, was recently unveiled as a rallying cry for all stakeholders to take responsibility in ensuring that the network recording zero fatality in 2019.

Speaking on this, Engr Jamiu Badmos said there would be zero tolerance for acts of carelessness, especially with regard to technical field teams who he urged to maintain 100% compliance with regulations, from PPE kit to operational guidelines in the field. He noted that each employee’s life is a treasure trove of value which should not be wasted due to careless actions.

Engr Jamiu urged co-operation from all stakeholders, including staff, to report any unsafe behaviour to the QHSE department, warning that failure to do so could have dire consequences. “We must collaborate and co-operate on this matter. Our work environment is one of great hazard and as such we cannot overemphasize the need to be careful. Our focus now is to urge ownership. Everyone has to chip in. From the technical teams who must ensure they act in line with all safety provisions, to other stakeholders in the community who we encourage to report unsafe practices to us immediately they notice them.”, Engr Jamiu Badmos concluded.
