NSE Donates Food Items, Beverages, Others To Mother Theresa Orphanage

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Maitama Branch donated food items, beverages, soaps and toiletries, worth thousands of Naira to children and staff of Mother Theresa Orphanage at Gwarimpa in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) recently.

Presenting the items to the orphanage home in Abuja, Chairman of the society, Engr. Markus Dye FNSE noted that children are a gift from God and that when guided properly with love they will adjust positively in life, which will further bring sustainable development to the community and nation at large.

Dye also called on government and privileged Nigerians to support indigents and orphans in the society, in order to give them a sense of belonging and hope for the future.

Represented by the publicity/welfare secretary of the branch, Engr. Henry Okoye, the chairman of the society also pointed out that the engineers are known for their designs and innovative thinking, adding that positive mindset is the secret behind beautiful creativity.

“There is a need for well-meaning Nigerians to assist the less privileged children in the society which they belonged to, especially the indigents and orphans who do not have those to support them. That is why we in the society of engineers decided to divert a little from our regular professional responsibilities, to meet the needs of this children, in order to give them a sense of belonging in the society.”

Responding, the proprietor/caregiver of the Orphanage, Catherine Emeagwali, appreciated the Society of Engineers, Maitama Branch for their kind gesture and prayed that the Almighty God will continue to guide and protect them in their various fields of endeavours.
