In February, BIC helped students and teachers with a donation of 3.9 million pens to the Kids In Need Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring children’s success by providing free school supplies. This donation will help students whose families can’t afford new school supplies, as well as teachers who often spend their own money to stock their classrooms.
The Kids In Need Foundation celebrated the news on LinkedIn. They said, “Teachers can get back to their job: teaching and students can get back to their job: learning. Thank you, BIC!”
This is not the first time the Kids In Need Foundation and BIC teamed up. This year, BIC team member Erik Jackel also coordinated a back-pack donation for students in Florida’s Miami-Dade County. Working with the Kids In Need Foundation, Five Below and other businesses, BIC donated 10,000 backpacks filled with school supplies.
This is just one example of donations BIC makes to benefit children in need worldwide. In January 2020, BIC France partnered with Fondation Soprano to promote the BIC Gelocity Illusion. BIC matched every pen sold with one pen donated through the Soprano Foundation. Thanks to consumers, BIC and the Fondation Soprano were able to donate more than 16,000 pens.
