The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) released the Selected food price watch data for the month of November 2017 detailing average prices paid by consumers across states, Brand Spur Nigeria reports.
Selected food price watch data for November 2017 reflected that the average price of 1 dozen of Agric eggs medium size increased year-on-year by 7.52% and decreased month-on-month by -2.06% to N 463.ll in November 2017 from N472.85 in October 2017 while the average price of piece of Agric eggs medium size(price of one) increased year-on-year by 4.53% and decreased month-on-month by – 2.95% to N40.82 in November 2017 from N42.06 in October 2017.
In the report signed by the Statistician General of the Federation and Chief Executive, NBS, Dr. Yemi Kale and made available to BrandSpur Nigeria, the bureau said the average price of 1kg of tomato increased year-on-year by 8.09% and decreased month-on-month by -1.76% to N286.39 in November 2017 from N291.53 in October 2017.
The average price of 1kg of rice (imported high quality sold loose) decreased year-on-year by -12.11% and month-on-month by -2.19% to N360.83 in November 2017 from N368.90 in October 2017.
Similarly, the average price of 1kg of yam tuber increased year-on-year by 1.32% and decreased month-on-month by -5.08% to N212.27 in November 2017 from N223.63 in October 2017.
