Nigerian visual artist Laolu Senbanjo has teamed up with Belvedere Vodka for a one of a kind limited edition bottle. The collaboration was announced yesterday and the limited edition bottle will be available in-store globally September 2018.
Laolu Senbanjo is a Brooklyn-based Nigerian-born performance and visual artist. With an artistic vision to reveal the beauty within each of his subjects, the new limited edition bottle visually brings to life Laolu’s interpretation of the complexity, nuance and character of the Belvedere liquid.
Laolu adorned the iconic bottle with weaving swirls, triangle patterns, and flowing lines. The shapes are a reflection of Belvedere’s signature ingredients: pristine water and Polska rye—making this offering the perfect marriage of Laolu’s native culture with the 600 year-vodka making tradition.
Belvedere Vodka and Laolu will reveal the limited edition bottle at an event planned for Spring/Summer 2019 New York Fashion Week in September. The bottle will also support the global fund to help eliminate HIV/AIDS in Africa.
While part of his story exists in Brooklyn, New York, Laolu is a native son of Lagos, Nigeria. Vibrant rhythms and a passionate community make the capital city a premier nightlife destination—consider this year’s limited edition bottle your personal invitation to explore it.
The bottle will support the Global Fund to help eliminate HIV/AIDS in Africa. Also as a social advocate and former human rights attorney, Laolu’s philosophies align with Belvedere’s commitment to community and creating positive action in the world.
