MTN Nigeria’s 21 Days Of Y’ello Care In Full Swing

MTNers (MTN Staff) know how to make an entrance… At the Community Senior High School, Wasimi, Maryland, Lagos, they came with one purpose to brighten lives.

It has been a wonderful time for young people around Lagos state, with MTN Nigeria’s 21 Days Of Y’ello Care. Two weeks have passed since the kick-off of the campaign and a lot has happened.

Apart from the several visits to Skills Acquisition Centres, various divisions in the ICT company have been visiting secondary schools and the lives of the students have been better for it!

For a day, the staff became students of the Community Senior High School, Wasimi, Maryland, Lagos; inspiring and learning from the students of the school, simultaneously.

Sonny Onyegbula, Senior Manager, Customer Services, MTN Nigeria, introduced the programme to the students, explaining the various ways the programme will benefit them.

And Ugonwa Nwoye, Customer Services Executive, MTN Nigeria spoke about leadership, excellence and how the students can learn to appreciate themselves.

Odunayo Sanya, General Manager, Customer Management, MTN Nigeria gave strong pointers on achieving excellence and the power of ‘NO’ when they need to stand up for themselves.

Chioma Chimere of Technology Distributions Limited talked about ICT and how the world has greatly evolved since children had to stretch their hands over their ears to get enrolled in school!

Later, we heard an inspiring real-life story on the wrongs of drug abuse from a 20-year-old former user…

And Razak Olorunibe of Rhesus Solutions Initiative educated us on Rhesus incompatibility, infant mortality and how to prevent it.

Next up was the Spelling Bee competition that had the school on its feet! The team of ‘spellers’ huddled together for each question and it was suspenseful!

After nearly thirty minutes of “English-Gymnastics”, three winners were announced and they got mouthwatering gifts.

The youth empowerment phase of 21 Days Of Y’ello Care did not end in one school. The various divisions in MTN Nigeria headed to schools around Lagos!

With all the fun happening, many students got advice from seasoned professionals.
