At the recently concluded Edo State ‘Alaghodaro’ Summit 2017, the Nosak Group Chairman, from an investor’s perspective gave an insight on why Edo State is the oasis for investment opportunities in Nigeria. During his interview with CNBC Africa at the three days conference, Dr Toni Ogunbor stated that as an investor, such opportunities are becoming vivid when private sector becomes involved in public governance.
With the hidden potentials in Edo State ranging from Natural Resources, Human Resource, he believes Governor, Godwin Obaseki and his administration are working earnestly to tap into these resources by doing things differently and creating opportunities for investors to tap into.
Dr. Toni Ogunbor also stated that looking at the investment climate and the direction of the Nigerian economy, benefits from crude oil are gradually phasing out. Therefore, he expects Edo State to see Agriculture as the new frontier; identifying palm oil business as the new crude oil for Edo State.
In his final note, his expectation from the summit is to see more funding going into Agriculture in Edo State as he sees the sector creating jobs and generating more revenue for the state.
