Nearing three decades, SO&U Group, Nigeria’s leading creative and marketing communications provider continues to work at building brighter futures in the communities where it operates through employee volunteerism and community giving. This year is no exception and particularly moved by the increasing sight of the needy within its Ikeja environs, the organisation launched its commendable Give Love initiative with a tagline, Little Deeds, Big Impact.

Speaking about the initiative, Uche Osoka, Group Art Director at SO&U stated, “Working at the agency, we often see the needy in our community and knowing that these are tough times economically, it became imperative that we needed to do something particularly worthy to restoring some hope to our community. Thus, alongside other creative colleagues, we designed a lovely logo, branding designs and copy were done and the Give Love initiative was birth”.

“We needed to make it easier to make donations but also particularly, to dignify the process of receiving these donations” – Kemi Evbota, Head Human Resources at SO&U Group added. “The initiative is pretty simple, Mrs Evbota continued – we receive the clothes, shoes, home appliances, utensils and food items you do not
need or have in excess, we lay them out and hang them up nicely and those in need simply help themselves”.

The laudable Give Love initiative which also included a visit to a major hospital in Ikeja wherein bills of various patients were fully paid, engaged employees to participate also encouraging client organisations to be a part of the worthy effort.

SO&U Group comprising its leading subsidiaries – Soulcomms PR, Maxi Media, Lucid Productions and Vyrus Digital continues in its stride as a leading group with a heart, aptly reflecting a passionate team, committed to filling its community with much love.

Innovatively creating volunteer experiences such as the Give Love initiative that readily connects people and communities to meet critical needs within diverse areas from addressing hunger to even providing experiences for job readiness, Biodun Adefila, Group Executive Director SO&U sums it up nicely by adding “Our aim with the Give Love initiative is quite focused. It is to provide a key investment to increase capacity and to meet an increasing demand in our community. We are thrilled with the impactful results we have had on this first run and are excited at future opportunities to simply Give Love”.
