{"id":10707,"date":"2017-09-27T08:26:00","date_gmt":"2017-09-27T07:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/brandspurng.com\/?p=10707"},"modified":"2017-09-27T08:26:00","modified_gmt":"2017-09-27T07:26:00","slug":"coca-cola-signs-first-virtual-athlete-in-latest-fifa-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/brandspurng.com\/2017\/09\/27\/coca-cola-signs-first-virtual-athlete-in-latest-fifa-game\/","title":{"rendered":"Coca-Cola signs first &#8216;virtual athlete&#8217; in latest Fifa game"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><div class=\"articleHeading\">\n<p class=\"summary\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\"><strong><em>Coke is set to release its first ever in-game advertising spot in the forthcoming Fifa 18.\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"articleWrap\">\n<div id=\"articleBody\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The sequence in the game features Alex Hunter, the fictional protagonist in\u00a0<em>The Journey<\/em>, a story mode introduced in Fifa 17 that returns this year, continuing Hunter\u2019s story.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6ErzVDwcla0?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=en-US&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Last year, Hunter \u2018signed a deal\u2019 with Adidas, and this year he will add Coca-Cola Zero Sugar to the list of brands he is endorsing.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">A can of the soft drink appears in the game in a sequence that nods to 1979 Coke ad &#8220;Mean Joe&#8221;, in which an American Football star is given a bottle of Coke by a fan after a difficult game.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The collaboration between Coca-Cola and the game\u2019s publisher, EA Sports, will extend to special packaging and retail partnerships. The ad spot featured in the game will also be shared on social and be shown on out of home sites, including on the brand\u2019s new 3D robotic sign in New York\u2019s Times Square.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Matt Wolf, vice-president of entertainment, ventures and strategic alliances at The Coca-Cola Company, said: &#8220;This is an exciting brand innovation.
