Dangote Cement Plc celebrated its top distributors and customers at the 2026 Distributors’ Awards Night, handing out a staggering ₦15 billion worth of rewards, including cash prizes, SUVs, CNG-powered trucks, and cement containers. The event, themed “Partner for Growth,” was held at the Eko Convention Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, recognising the dedication and performance of its highest-performing partners.
Brandspur Business News reports that the company’s leadership highlighted the critical role of distributors in ensuring Dangote products reach communities across Nigeria. Speaking at the event, President and CEO of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, described distributors as the heartbeat of the business and praised their tireless efforts in driving product availability and customer engagement nationwide.
“Your commitment to our products and your direct engagement with customers turn our vision into tangible results,” Dangote said, noting that the celebration signals the company’s strong growth trajectory for 2026.
The event also provided a platform to reaffirm the company’s Vision 2030 strategy, which seeks to transform Dangote Group into a $100 billion enterprise through industrial expansion, cross-border investments, and the development of Africa’s self-sufficiency in energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure.
The industrial giant revealed that Dangote Cement is targeting a cement production capacity of 90 million tonnes by 2030—50 percent more than Saudi Arabia’s total output. In addition, plans include refinery expansion from 650,000 bpd to 1.4 million bpd, fertilizer production increase to 12 million metric tonnes annually, and enhanced capacity at the polypropylene plant.
Dangote stressed that the company’s mission goes beyond building factories; it aims to empower Africa by fostering economic growth, infrastructure development, and human capital investment.
Chairman of the Board, Emmanuel Ikazoboh, in his first appearance as chairman, announced ₦9 billion in cash rewards for distributors and highlighted additional gifts, such as CNG-powered trucks and high-end cars, to reinforce the company’s commitment to sustainable logistics and operational efficiency.
“We are supporting our distributors to grow bigger, stronger, and more profitable,” Ikazoboh said, noting that all trucks are targeted to be CNG-powered by 2027 to boost environmental sustainability.
Dangote Cement also outlined expansion plans including a greenfield, two-line cement plant with a six million metric tonnes per annum capacity in Itori, Ogun State, dedicated to exports, and growth at its grinding plant in Côte d’Ivoire, signalling a strong pan-African growth strategy.
The Aliko Dangote Foundation has also launched a ₦1 trillion ($600 million) education fund, supporting over 1.3 million vulnerable students, with a focus on scholarships, STEM education, TVET programmes, and girls’ education.
These initiatives, coupled with the awards, underscore the company’s holistic approach to empowering stakeholders while driving sustainable industrialisation and growth across the continent.
