On Saturday, May 19, 2018, an estimated 29.2 million people tuned in to the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry of Wales and American actress Meghan Markle, which took place at Windsor Castle in England.

In the U.S., while coverage varied by network, the wedding ceremony was carried live from approximately 7:00 a.m. ET to 8:15 a.m.ET on 15 networks. The networks carrying live coverage of the ceremony were ABC (inclusive of Freeform simulcast), BBC America, CBS, CNN, CNNe, E!, Fox News Channel, HLN, MSNBC, NBC, PBS, Telemundo, TLC, and Univision.

In terms, of the social nature of the Wedding, overall, there were 6.9 million total interactions across Facebook and Twitter about the Royal Wedding according to Nielsen Social.

Harry and Meghan tied the knot in a ceremony at Windsor Castle, where they were greeted by around 100,000 people lining the streets.

The couple will not be taking a honeymoon immediately, as they are due to attend a charity garden party for Prince Charles, the heir to the throne, at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday.
