Meta has confirmed that it is testing the ability for users to have up to five separate profiles associated with a single account.

According to the platform, the test allows users to create separate profiles for specific groups they want to connect with, such as one dedicated Facebook feed for their friends and another for their coworkers.

Users who participate in the test will be able to switch between their various profiles with a few taps.

“We’re testing a way for people to have more than one profile tied to a single Facebook account to help people tailor their experience based on interests and relationships,” a spokesperson Leonard Lam was quoted as saying in an email by the website.

“Anyone who uses Facebook must continue to abide by our policies,” Lam added.

Additional profiles do not need to include a person’s real name because users can choose any profile name and username as long as it is unique and does not contain any numbers or special characters.

According to Facebook, people’s main profiles must still use their real names.

Additional profiles, according to the company, are still subject to its policies and cannot misrepresent your identity or impersonate others. If you receive a violation on another profile, it will have an effect on your entire account.
