The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has extended the enforcement of debtor broadcast stations’ revocation orders from 24 hours to Wednesday, August 23, 2022.

 

Balarabe Shehu Ilelah, the Director General of NBC, said in a statement that the extension was due to an appeal by the affected broadcast stations, relevant stakeholders, public-spirited individuals and organizations.

“This is to notify all affected broadcast stations whose licenses were revoked and given 24 hours to pay all outstanding license fees that the National Broadcasting Commission has extended the period for payment of all outstanding debts from 24 hours to Wednesday, August 23, 2022.”

“All affected broadcast stations that do not pay their debts by August 23, 2022 are directed to shut down by 12 a.m. on August 24, 2022.”
