Biography:
Majekodunmi Adewale Olakunmi’s artistic odyssey commenced after he participated in the Logo competition of the Visual Art Society of Nigeria (VASON) in 2005. He was recently appointed the New (AfrAA) Africa Arts Association Youth League sub-committee chair. A testament to his artistic prowess, he was crowned the Best Artist of the Year at the Messiah Arena Art competition in 2004, a milestone that set the stage for his future triumphs.
Majekodunmi Adewale doubles as a member of the International Art Society and Society of Nigeria Artist (SNA) with arts spread across Europe, Asia, Africa and beyound. Garnered several international recognition awards.
In 2004, Majekodunmi Adewale underwent intensive Youth Leadership Training in Oyo, Nigeria, showcasing his dedication to personal and professional growth. His academic journey in the arts spanned from 2003 to 2016, blessed with scholarships that paved the way for his mastery in the field. Further expanding his horizons, he pursued a PGDE in Education from 2017 to 2022, and in 2019, he obtained a scholarship for Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
Internationally, he left an indelible mark on the art scene with the Instagram Art Context in India in 2020 and participating in the 2nd Annual Art Cafe of the Society of Nigeria Artists in 2005. His artistic presence in India was solidified with a Certificate of Achievement from the Art and Artist World in 2020.
The accolades continued to pour in as he claimed the Finalist Award in the ABSTRACT Art competition in 2023. This international juried art competition, organized by ART SHOW INTERNATIONAL GALLERY and TERAVARNA ART GALLERY in Cypress, Los Angeles, CA, USA, recognized his artistic brilliance as the sole Nigerian finalist.
Majekodunmi Adewale’s commitment to showcasing his talent globally is evident in his participation in the 16th International Online Art Exhibition by MANIKARNIKA Art Gallery, India, and the Abstract Art competition organized by ART SHOW INTERNATIONAL GALLERY, Cypress, Los Angeles, CA, in 2023.
His artworks have not only adorned online exhibitions but have graced the physical space, with notable appearances in the 13th Edition of the Festival of Art Exhibition at JNissi School, Lagos, Nigeria. His influence has even reached the pages of the Guardian Nigeria Newspaper, where he shared his insights on art, published on August 6, 2023.
