Less than three months after extending his contract until June 2028, Nottingham Forest made a stunning turnaround by firing manager Nuno Espírito Santo after just three Premier League games this season. According to reports, escalating tensions between Nuno, owner Evangelos Marinakis, and Global Head of Football Edu played a major role in the club’s September 8, 2025, confirmation of the decision, which was attributed to “recent circumstances.”
Nuno had led Forest to seventh place in the Premier League and their first European qualification since 1995–96, making the 2024–25 season an incredible success. But it seems like his fate has been sealed after a 3-0 loss to West Ham at home and his open admission of a worsening relationship with Marinakis, BrandSpur entertainment and sports desk reports.
With four points from three games, Forest is tenth in the standings and getting ready for life after Nuno. Ange Postecoglou has agreed to take over as head coach, according to sources, marking a significant tactical change for the team.
