Global mobility platform inDrive has committed more than ₦75 million to humanitarian relief for Lagos residents displaced by recent demolition exercises, providing emergency support to affected families and individuals struggling with sudden loss of shelter and livelihoods.

The intervention, delivered in partnership with the Tolu Aniwura Welfare Foundation, popularly known as GenerousMe, was carried out at St. Paul Catholic Church, Ebute-Metta. The initiative targeted households impacted by displacement across affected Lagos communities, with a focus on immediate survival needs and social stability.

Over 2,000 beneficiaries received comprehensive relief packages covering food items, household essentials, clothing, baby care products, and educational materials for children. The distribution formed part of a broader response to mitigate the humanitarian fallout from forced relocations.

Brandspur Brand News reports that the relief effort reflects a growing trend among multinational technology companies integrating corporate responsibility into community response frameworks, particularly in urban centres facing housing and displacement challenges.

Items distributed included staple food supplies such as rice, beans, garri, noodles, spaghetti, cooking oil, tomato paste, seasoning cubes and salt. Beneficiaries also received bedding materials, mosquito nets, rechargeable lamps, power banks, clothing, baby essentials, and hygiene items. Children were provided with school kits containing bags, notebooks and writing materials to support continued education.

Speaking on the initiative, inDrive Nigeria’s Country Representative, Timothy Oladimeji, said the outreach aligns with the company’s people-first philosophy and its commitment to fairness beyond its core mobility services. He noted that the demolitions left many families vulnerable and required swift, coordinated intervention.

Oladimeji stated that the partnership with GenerousMe enabled inDrive to respond quickly while maintaining accountability and transparency in the distribution process, adding that community well-being remains central to the company’s long-term engagement in Nigeria.

Also commenting, GenerousMe Partnerships Lead, Adetola Alade, said the collaboration ensured timely delivery of aid to those most affected. He emphasised that speed, coordination and trust were critical in responding to humanitarian emergencies of this scale.

As inDrive continues to expand its footprint in Nigeria, the company said it remains committed to combining innovative mobility solutions with targeted social interventions aimed at supporting vulnerable populations and promoting inclusive growth.
