The MTN Foundation has released its 2025 Impact Snapshot, offering a detailed account of how ₦32.3 billion in social investment has translated into measurable improvements in healthcare delivery, women entrepreneurship, education, digital inclusion and agriculture across Nigeria.

Rather than abstract figures, the report frames impact through outcomes on the ground. In 2025 alone, the Foundation recorded 12,426 safe deliveries in rural health facilities, strengthened maternal and child healthcare services, and supported female entrepreneurs with tools required to expand their businesses. These interventions reflect a shift from advocacy-driven programmes to direct, community-level delivery.

One of the most significant pillars of the Foundation’s 2025 activities was healthcare support. During the year, the MTN Foundation donated ₦139 million worth of essential medications to 49 Primary Healthcare Centres nationwide. This intervention supported more than 448,000 clinic visits, improving access to treatment for mothers, children and elderly patients in underserved communities and reducing pressure on secondary healthcare facilities.

Brandspur Brand News understands that women-focused economic empowerment also featured prominently in the Foundation’s impact strategy. Through the Y’ellopreneur initiative, ₦208 million in equipment loans was disbursed to female-owned small businesses. Unlike one-off grants, the programme is structured as a long-term investment in productive capacity, enabling beneficiaries to scale operations, increase output and create employment within their local economies.

Addressing Nigeria’s widening digital divide remained another core focus in 2025. The Impact Snapshot shows that 62,284 young Nigerians were trained in digital skills, equipping them for participation in a technology-driven economy. In the education space, the Foundation has provided 1,026 scholarships to blind undergraduates to date, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive education and equal opportunity for persons with disabilities.

The agricultural sector also benefited from targeted digital interventions. According to the report, 500 farmers received dedicated internet-enabled support that provides real-time access to weather forecasts and market information, helping them make informed decisions, reduce losses and improve productivity.

Commenting on the Foundation’s outlook, Executive Director of the MTN Foundation, Odunayo Sanya, said the organisation is preparing for more demanding interventions as it moves into 2026. She noted that the Foundation remains committed to doing “hard and difficult things” required to ensure that no community is excluded from the benefits of connectivity, modern healthcare and economic opportunity.

As the MTN Foundation looks ahead, its guiding principle remains community empowerment at scale. The 2025 Impact Snapshot positions the organisation as a key player in Nigeria’s social development ecosystem, demonstrating how structured private-sector intervention can complement public efforts in healthcare delivery, skills development, women empowerment and digital inclusion.

With growing pressure on public infrastructure and social services, the Foundation’s report underscores the role of sustained, data-driven social investment in building resilient communities and supporting Nigeria’s long-term development goals.
