Mouka Strengthens Commitment To Nigerian Heritage At Oba Oyero’s 15th Coronation Anniversary And ₦500 Million Palace Launch

Mouka, Nigeria’s leading mattress brand, has reaffirmed its dedication to preserving and celebrating the nation’s cultural heritage by actively participating in the 15th Coronation Anniversary of Oba (Dr) Isiaka Adio Balogun Oyero, the traditional ruler of Ketu-Kosofe. The event also marked the official launch of a ₦500 million ultra-modern palace project, a symbol of growth and modernisation for the kingdom.

The celebration, organised in partnership with the Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), drew community leaders, dignitaries, and stakeholders to commemorate Oba Oyero’s impactful reign since his ascension in February 2011. The monarch described the palace project as a testament to heritage and progress, stating, “Our community has witnessed a remarkable transformation over the years. The new palace will stand as a symbol of our heritage and the progress we have achieved.”

Brandspur Brand News reports that Chief Oladimeji Adekunle Osingunwa, Asiwaju of Ketu and Chief Commercial Officer of Mouka Foam, emphasised the long-term significance of the palace project. “This palace represents our collective commitment to preserving our heritage while creating a dignified centre for leadership and community development. In partnership with the local council and our people, we are laying a foundation that will serve generations to come,” he said.

The anniversary attracted prominent figures including Kafilat Adetola Ogbara, Member of the House of Representatives for Kosofe Federal Constituency, who described the event as a milestone in community development and pledged her support for the palace initiative. Nollywood icon Sola Sobowale and other notable stakeholders were also present.

Officials from the Agboyi-Ketu LCDA highlighted the palace project as a strategic move to reinforce traditional leadership and community identity, aligning with the rapid urban expansion in Ketu-Kosofe. Observers noted that parts of the area now reflect the growth patterns of upscale Lagos locations like Lekki, Magodo, and Ikoyi, with commercial hubs like Mile 12 Market thriving alongside.

Mouka’s participation aligns with its broader cultural engagement strategy. In 2025, the brand supported the coronation of the 44th Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Adewolu Ladoja, and the New Yam Festival organised by Eze Kingsley Chukwuyere Ogundu in Azumini Isiokpo, Rivers State. These initiatives underscore Mouka’s commitment to corporate citizenship that goes beyond commerce, celebrating Nigeria’s diverse cultural heritage while maintaining its presence in millions of homes.

Through such engagements, Mouka continues to demonstrate that its brand ethos intertwines comfort with a deep respect for the cultural and social fabric of Nigeria.
