Tizeti Launches Ad-Supported Free Internet Platform Across Nigeria And Ghana

Tizeti Network Limited has introduced a new advertising-supported internet access service that allows users to watch short video adverts in exchange for free data connectivity across its public Wi-Fi hotspots in Nigeria and Ghana.

The broadband provider said the new system operates using rewarded advertising technology integrated through Google Ad Manager, enabling users to voluntarily view advertisements before receiving temporary internet access.

Brandspur Brand News reports that the initiative is designed to expand affordable internet connectivity while creating a new revenue channel that connects advertisers with millions of active digital users across West Africa.

Under the model, individuals connecting to a Tizeti hotspot are presented with the option to watch a brief video advertisement to unlock a specified amount of internet data. Users who choose to participate may also receive additional data allocations through repeated viewing sessions.

The company noted that the approach creates a mutually beneficial ecosystem in which consumers gain internet access without immediate payment, while advertisers benefit from opt-in engagement that can deliver stronger viewer attention and higher advertisement completion rates.

According to Tizeti, the rollout places its Wi-Fi network among the largest ad-supported connectivity platforms currently operating in Africa, with more than 2.5 million active users already accessing services through its public hotspot infrastructure.

The West Africa Manager at Tizeti, Nsikak Asuquo, said the project supports the company’s broader mission to widen digital access across the region.

He explained that reward-based internet access would help remove financial barriers for many users while simultaneously providing brands with a powerful channel to reach large online audiences.

Industry forecasts suggest the initiative could benefit from rapid growth in Africa’s digital advertising market. Analysts project that programmatic advertising expenditure on the continent could reach around $4 billion in 2025 and rise above $5 billion by 2028 as automated ad-buying platforms gain wider adoption.

Through the integration of Google Ad Manager across its Wi-Fi infrastructure, Tizeti said brands and agencies can launch campaigns through various programmatic channels, including open auctions, private marketplace deals, direct reservations and guaranteed placements.

The broadband company also stated that the platform operates under strict privacy and data protection policies in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act and the Ghana Data Protection Act.

Participation in the rewarded advertising model remains voluntary, with built-in privacy safeguards and compliance mechanisms designed to protect user data while supporting targeted advertising.

Tizeti added that the new service is now active across its hotspot locations in residential neighbourhoods, commercial centres, university campuses and other high-traffic urban areas in Nigeria and Ghana as demand for affordable internet services continues to grow across the region.
