Nigerian Breweries Plc has confirmed it will increase prices on selected stock-keeping units (SKUs), citing escalating production and operational costs as the driving factor behind the adjustment. The new pricing is set to take effect on March 20, 2026.

The company’s South-West Zonal Business Manager, John Ademu, communicated the development to distributors in a letter on Friday, explaining that the economic climate and rising input costs necessitated the revision. Nigerian Breweries assured that orders fully paid for and confirmed prior to March 20 would be honoured at the existing price.

Brandspur Brand News reports that Guinness Nigeria Plc has also scheduled a similar increase on selected SKUs, effective March 27, 2026. The company attributed the move to prevailing economic conditions that have significantly impacted operational costs. Guinness Nigeria confirmed that all fully paid orders placed before the price change would be delivered at current rates.

Industry analysts note that these adjustments reflect broader pressures on manufacturers operating in Nigeria, where inflationary trends and rising raw material costs continue to influence pricing decisions across the fast-moving consumer goods sector.

Both beverage companies emphasised that the increases are selective, applying only to specific products within their portfolio, while reaffirming their commitment to ensuring transparency and fairness for customers and distributors alike.

Consumers and distributors are advised to review their orders and plan purchases ahead of the effective dates to take advantage of current pricing before the revisions take effect.

This development highlights the ongoing challenges in Nigeria’s production and supply chains, underscoring the need for businesses to balance operational sustainability with market competitiveness.
