Guinness Nigeria PLC Surpasses ₦1 Trillion Market Capitalisation, Signalling Strong Investor Confidence And Sustained Value Creation

Guinness Nigeria Plc has reported a strong financial performance for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, posting a 20% increase in revenue to ₦142.27 billion and announcing an additional interim dividend of ₦7.00 per ordinary share as improved profitability and lower finance costs boosted earnings.

The brewer’s latest unaudited results showed revenue rising from ₦118.66 billion recorded in the corresponding period of 2025. Gross profit climbed to ₦53.99 billion, while operating profit increased to ₦24.34 billion, reflecting continued growth across its business operations and improved execution of commercial and operational strategies.

According to Brandspur Brand News, Guinness Nigeria also recorded a significant improvement in profitability as net finance costs declined to ₦1.75 billion from ₦4.61 billion a year earlier. Profit before tax rose to ₦22.59 billion, while profit after tax jumped 57% to ₦14.91 billion, compared with ₦9.48 billion in the same quarter of 2025. Earnings per share also increased from ₦4.33 to ₦6.81.

The company’s board approved an additional interim dividend of ₦7.00 per ordinary share, representing a payout of about ₦15.33 billion. Combined with the ₦2.00 interim dividend declared after the first quarter, shareholders will receive a total interim dividend of ₦9.00 per share for the current financial year.

Board Chairman, Prof. Fabian Ajogwu, SAN, said the company’s first-half performance reflects the resilience of its operations and the effectiveness of its long-term growth strategy, adding that the additional dividend demonstrates confidence in Guinness Nigeria’s financial position and commitment to delivering sustainable value to shareholders.

Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Girish Sharma attributed the performance to disciplined execution, stronger commercial capabilities, improved operational efficiency and continued investment across the company’s product portfolio. He added that the company remains focused on sustainable growth while maintaining prudent capital allocation and creating long-term value for shareholders and other stakeholders.

The latest results reinforce Guinness Nigeria’s strong recovery momentum amid Nigeria’s evolving consumer goods market, positioning the brewer to build on its performance through the remainder of the 2026 financial year while sustaining shareholder returns and operational efficiency.
