Brand and communications agency Penquin has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Albert De Andrade as chief creative officer and Lerato Moleko as strategy director.
The appointments are part of the agency’s broader push to deepen the connection between creative work, brand strategy and business growth as clients face an increasingly complex marketing environment.
Brandspur Brand News reports that De Andrade and Moleko bring a combined wealth of experience spanning advertising, communications, consulting, strategic planning and commercial growth, with the agency positioning their appointments as an important step in the evolution of its integrated offering.
De Andrade joins Penquin with more than 20 years of experience in advertising and marketing. The award-winning creative leader has worked on campaigns for major brands including Anglo American, Castle Lager, Coca-Cola, Discovery, DStv, Ford, Gillette, PepsiCo, P&G and Vodacom.
In his new role, De Andrade will focus on strengthening Penquin’s creative capabilities while ensuring that ideas remain closely connected to clients’ commercial objectives. His approach centres on bringing business ambition, strategic thinking and creativity together to produce work that delivers measurable value.
Moleko, meanwhile, brings 14 years of experience in business consulting and brand strategy. She has worked across major African agency networks, including FCB Africa, Wunderman Thompson, Edelman Africa and Ogilvy South Africa.
Her experience includes strategic planning and management of major accounts such as South African Tourism, Telkom, Unilever and Mondelez. She will be responsible for further developing Penquin’s strategic capability and helping clients identify opportunities for growth through stronger brand and communication decisions.
Penquin CEO Veronica Moleele said the two appointments would help the agency bring different disciplines together earlier when tackling clients’ business and communication challenges.
The agency’s leadership believes the closer alignment of strategy and creativity is increasingly important as brands compete for attention in a fast-changing market. The goal is to move beyond simply generating visibility and create work that produces stronger commercial and long-term brand impact.
With De Andrade leading the creative function and Moleko overseeing strategy, Penquin is seeking to reinforce its position as a growth-focused agency capable of combining creative agility with strategic depth.
