Farmkonnect CEO, Oluwole Azeez Declared Wanted For Over N50m Investment Fraud

0

Farmkonnect CEO, Oluwole Azeez has been declared wanted by the Nigerian police for over N50m Investment Fraud.

Brandspurng reports that the Nigerian Police Force has declared Oluwole Azeez Saheed, the founder of FarmKonnect Agribusiness Nigeria Limited wanted for investment fraud worth over N50 million.

A special police gazette bulletin shows that following a warrant of arrest/bench warrant issued by the magistrate court of Lagos, he is wanted for the offence of criminal conspiracy, obtaining money by false pretence, fraud and stealing with social media space and medium advertising investment – property involved with cash money of N50 million.

This followed a petition by Chive GPS to place FarmKonnect founder on Interpol global red notice for obtaining money by false pretence and investment fraud.

The petition seen by Nairametrics reads, “We are retained by ‘our clients’ and on whose express instruction we write to lay a criminal complaint of a well-orchestrated theft, fraud, and obtaining money by false pretences against Oluwole Azeez Saheed herein referred to as Azeez, and for him to be placed on a red notice.

“Sometime in 2019, Azeez through FarmKonnect invaded the social media space and other medium advertising for investment and posed as investment mogul that can manage the public’s funds in various agricultural enterprise in exchange for fixed return at a predetermined rate and duration.”

The statement further revealed that subscribers at different points transferred over fifty million to different bank accounts owned by Azeez with the expectation of fixed interest.

It added, “Oblivious of the large-scale fraud ahead, our clients transferred, at various times the sum of Fifty Million Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N50,500,000) into the corporate accounts of Farmkonnect Agribusiness Nigeria Ltd.

“The proposed transaction was packaged and designed to yield fixed interests. However, upon expiration of the investment, the chief mastermind Azeez stopped any form of communications with our clients and have since become evasive, switched off their phones and currently unreachable.

“We believe this may have been a premeditated fraud which was disguised as a legal investment scheme owing to false representations. We believe they may have also swindled thousands of persons of billions of Naira and they may have diverted the funds into real estate and other personal endeavours.”

To prevent Azeez from fleeing the country to South Africa, the petition sought to have him placed on a global red notice.

Meanwhile, we couldn’t immediately confirm this with the police as several calls put through to the Lagos Police PRO, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, were not answered at the time of the report.

0

The Managing Director, P&G Nigeria, Mrs. Mokutima Ajileye and former Group Chief Marketing Officer, Dangote Plc, Mr. Oare Ojeikere, have been scheduled to speak at the 2022 (ADVAN)Advertisers Association of Nigeria’s Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Forum in Lagos on the 16th September, 2022.

The 2022 ADVAN CMO Forum, themed: ‘Evolving Role of the CMO’ will provide a unique network of the nation’s marketing leaders with a platform to better navigate the fast-changing marketing landscape. The meeting is open to only senior, client-side professionals such s CEOs, CFO, CMOs or the equivalent, said Chief Executive Officer of ADVAN, Mrs. Ediri Ose-Ediale.

According to her, this year’s theme focuses on leadership: insight into the challenges facing our industry: leading to the development of actionable solutions for the industry and specifically for ADVAN member companies.

The session, which would be moderated by Mrs. Chioma Afe, Head Marketing and Communications, Access Bank Group is the exclusive 2022 ADVAN CMO Forum that would host over fifty (50) CEOs, CMOs and Business leaders from top organizations local and international.

According to McKinsey.com, “As companies confront changing consumer behavior, increasingly important third-party scrutiny, and more diverse target markets and segments, they must broaden the roles of marketing and the CMO.”

“Today, many chief marketers focus mainly on building brands, making advertising more effective, and perhaps market research. Although these responsibilities aren’t going away, CMOs must address several other areas as well: leading company-wide change in response to evolving buying patterns, stepping up efforts to shape a company’s public profile, managing complexity, and building new marketing capabilities throughout the company as a whole. The relative importance of these new priorities will of course vary by company and industry, but the broad importance of reinventing the CMO’s role as a strategic activist is similar across them.”

Speaking in regards to the CMO Forum, President of ADVAN, Mr. Osmade Uwubanmwem said that “the ever-changing marketing environment has prompted the CEOs and CMOs to continually, to meet and share ideas and international and local best practice.”

Burna Boy Shocks Nigerians With New Revelation

Nigerian music star, Damini Ogulu, aka Burna Boy, has revealed some secrets about his past experiences before becoming a household name.

In a series of tweets on Wednesday, the singer said he thought he had a short life span.

“I came into the Music industry straight from Chelmsford HMP. I had no idea I would even live this long,” his tweet read.

He also recalled his prison experience while living in the United Kingdom.

Unknown to many, the artiste had done time in HM Prison Chelmsford, before starting as a musician.

Interestingly, Burna Boy hinted at his prison experience in the song, ‘Glory’ off his 2022 album, ‘Love, Damini’.

In the song, which features the South African male choral group, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Burna Boy sings about getting into fights and getting injured in prison.

The lyrics went, “I remember when they shipped me from the cans To Chelmsford HMP and my celly had it bad.So I had to have his back, niggas started fightin’. Then they cut me on my hand.

“So I grabbed one from the back, and I flung him off the landing

You know the screws get extra ruthless when you’re Black.

‘‘Layin’ on my back, now the block’s feelin’ mad. Now I’m in a lab trying to do my best.”

Prison experience

In the tweet, the ‘Last Last’ crooner admitted that being the biggest artiste in Nigeria is not his immediate goal.

He said he’s happy he gets to do what he loves the most while taking care of his people.

“Nigeria real doesn’t know me. I don’t care to be the most prominent Nigerian artist; I’m just happy I can do what I love and Take care of my people from it.

If you knew just Half the things l used to do for money, risking my freedom daily, you would be way happier for me.

“I came into the Music industry straight from Chelmsford HMP. I had no idea I would even live this long.

“So when people talk about me now, it’s all just funny. Of course, I would perform with my injured leg or even no legs or arms,” he wrote.

Chelmsford Prison

HM Prison, Chelmsford is a Category B men’s prison and Young Offenders Institution.

It is located in Chelmsford, Essex, England. Her Majesty’s Prison Service operates the prison. It is a young person’s prison and a local prison. It was expanded in 1996.

A Category B prison is used to detain those who do not require maximum security but for whom escape still needs to be made very difficult.

Background

Years back, it was reported that Burna Boy was banned from London due to his involvement in a gang-related crime and ‘jumping bail’ during parole.

In 2016, he was welcomed back to London after his seven years ban.

Incidentally, in July, his 2019 album, ‘African Giant’ was certified Gold in the United Kingdom for selling 100,000 units.

This made it the first African album in the British Record Industry Trusts Show (BRITS) to get such certification in the UK.

Make Working From Home Work For You

0

The office will never be the same. Right now, your desk might be at the dining table and you might be wearing sweatpants and a smart blouse as you talk to colleagues over a Zoom call.

With many companies having adopted a remote hybrid working model, it’s anyone’s guess whether we’ll ever return to office environments the way they once were. And, while working from home has its benefits – like less time and money spent on commuting – many remote workers are struggling to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

When there is no break from the culture of non-stop achievement, it can be exhausting. “If the pace never seems to let up, and you don’t have time for a calmer, happier you at home, it starts feeling as if you’re conducting life at breakneck speed,” says Aisha Pandor, CEO of the home cleaning services company SweepSouth. As a working mom of three, Aisha has practical advice for career women working from home on attaining a calmer work-life balance.

Be organised

In an office environment, there are trays and filing systems galore. At home, don’t allow your desk to become cluttered with bits of paper. Arrange paperwork in a three-tier system: an in-pile for current matters, a folder for ongoing projects and a large box file for longer-term, but important documents you may need to reference.

Keep set working hours

Have you ever noticed how productive you are in the countdown days to a holiday? Having less time to do something can have the result of making you more efficient. Stick to strict ‘office’ hours and set yourself mini-deadlines throughout the day to make sure you stay on track.

Get it out of your head, make notes

At the start of every day, write down what needs to be done so that you can clear your mind, knowing important matters have been listed. Cross off the things you’ve completed successfully but don’t punish yourself for tasks undone. The sky isn’t going to cave in because they haven’t all been ticked off.

Edit meetings and commitments

Constantly be on the lookout for which meetings can be cut from your schedule, advises Aisha. Similarly, in your home life, do an audit of all the commitments you’ve taken on, like heading up your book club as well as being on the school’s PTA. Identify which of these makes you feel really fulfilled, then do a commitment cull so that you can enjoy life without being too tired to do so.

Something needs to give

“It’s easy to let all the responsibilities of the house become part of your workday. Suddenly the dishes, hanging out the washing and making lunch is added to your pile of work commitments. Take time to calmly look at everything on your To Do list and say, I can’t do it all,” says Aisha.

Prepare ahead as much as you can to avoid work commitments colliding with home responsibilities. For example, make children’s lunches over the weekend and freeze them, and delegate responsibilities to others.

Resist the temptation to use every spare minute you have during the day to hang up washing, sweep the floors, or tidy the house. There is only so much time in the day, and you need some of that to rest, so now is the time to hire a domestic worker to help clean the house, even if it is just once a week.

Change gears to a calmer pace

Make a conscious effort to change down a gear to a calmer pace a few times during a workday. If you are breaking for lunch, say the words, “I’m going to have a calm 30 minutes for lunch now.” The words we speak are powerful, and by speaking your intention out loud, you reinforce it.

Get up from your workspace

Your concentration wanes if you work for long stretches of time, so take regular breaks throughout the day to boost your productivity. Set a timer to remind you to get up every two hours and take a short walk or do stretches, advises Dr Helen Okoye, medical expert and spokesperson for the World Thrombosis Day (WTD) campaign.

“When you spend too much time sitting, your blood flow slows down, which can lead to deep vein thrombosis (DVT), where clots form in the legs. If a part of the blood clot breaks off it can travel to the lungs, forming a pulmonary embolism (PE), which can be fatal,” she says. While many people are aware that blood clotting can result from prolonged sitting during flights, it may come as a surprise to learn that people who have sat for many hours working at a computer have also developed DVTs.

“Any prolonged inactivity can put you at risk of a dangerous blood clot,” says Dr Okoye. “Just getting up and moving around to get your circulation going again is a simple, effective way to reduce that risk.” In fact, incorporate as much movement into your daily routine as possible. Dance while you’re cooking, folding the washing, and brushing your teeth – every bit of activity helps.

And finally, yes, the economy is tough, the world is an uncertain place and having kids at home all the time is driving you mad, but for a calmer, more balanced approach to it all, remember that the only thing you can control is yourself.
