What went down at TWF League in Lead City, Ibadan

The weekend football league is Ibadan’s 1st social football league. The third edition of this league went down in style at Lead city secondary school football field for the first round of games.

The 2nd round of games is expected to come around October 2017. Each team is expected to play a single fixture against all teams in the competition. Top team at the end of the competition is declared the league winner. (http://www.twfleague.com/)

  

Each team is expected to register a maximum of 15 players and 2 team officials during the registration period. Changes to the squad list can only be made when the registration reopens in June. 3 changes can be made to the squad list; This year’s edition of TWF league, is a competition currently opened to a maximum of 7 teams, though the edition (TWF league) already begun with 5 teams participating  (http://www.twfleague.com/). We have sources saying that some other teams might join up in the second round of the edition

TURF STARS FC            OLOTE FC              THE KINGSMEN FC             THE BANDITS FC      UNITED FC

The competition took off with the first match between the defending champions (TURF STARS FC) and THE BANDITS FC

Despite BANDITS going up first with two goals, last edition MVP restored parity with 2 goals at half time, game ended 2 – 2 draw.

THE KINGSMEN FC were the surprise package of the event beating OLOTE FC 3-0 in a fierce encounter

Despite the rain, the competition had an amazing turn out.

with the table all tied up on points among four teams, the competition is so dramatic and unpredictable that we cannot relegate United FC just yet.
