LWC, MAJOR FACTOR TO RECKON WITH IN DELIVERY OF POTABLE WATER IN WEST AFRICA

Lagos Water Corporation has been described as a major factor to reckon with in terms of potable Water delivery in West Africa.

This assertion was made by Mr. Jude Chime, Coordinator of West Africa Water Expo 2018, yesterday 19th February 2018 at the LWC Headquarters, Ijora, Lagos during the group courtesy visit to the Corporation.

“Lagos Water Corporation is a reckon force when it comes to delivery of Potable Water in West Africa. There is no way we can stage an exhibition of this magnitude in Nigeria, Lagos without paying homage/courtesy visit to the biggest Water supply in Sub-Sahara Africa, under the leadership of LWC, MD/CEO, Engr. Muminu Badmus, being a major Player in this year exhibition”, Mr. Chime said.

While receiving the WAWE delegates to the Corporation, the LWC, MD/CEO, Engr. Muminu Adekunle Badmus thanked the delegates for their visit to LWC and added that he was conversant with such Expo where he worked before joining the Corporation.

He added that he will be delighted if the group can visit LWC facilities to appreciate what we have.

Engr. Badmus said that the Corporation is ready to arrange for field trip if requested for prior to the Expo date.

The expo is an opportunity for Water stakeholders to showcase new and old equipment, also learn new thing in the Water industry and also to discuss/address Water Challenges.

Mr. Chime revealed that the essence of the expo is to bring Water Stakeholders, Water Agencies/Corporations, Investors together for understanding and value among all Stakeholders in Water sector.

“To rally Stakeholders in Water and Sanitation Management towards increase in Water and Sanitation technologies.”

We have visited some State in the country such as Kano, Jigawa, Bauchi, Niger States etc, equally visited some countries in the West Africa, River basin Authority, Rural Water supply agency among others.

We have support from various bodies, such as FMWR, APWEN, various Engineering bodies among others.

In his closing remarks, Engr. Badmus said it is an opportunity to bring new ideas into the sector, especially locally made equipment and promise to support the exhibition in form of presentation and delivery of Papers at the event, he said.

The West Africa Water Expo is expected to come up between 10-12 July, 2018 @ Landmark Event Center, Oniru, Victoria lsland, Lagos.

About 70 Exhibitors, All 36 States Water Agencies in Nigeria and other Water Stakeholders in West Africa, United States are expected at the Expo.
