Do Not Hide to Be Holy.

During the third century, a significant number of Christians began to make their homes in secluded areas, away from major population centres because of their many distractions. They believed that only by getting away from the corruption of the city could they devote themselves to developing their spiritual lives. It was this idea that birthed monasticism.

But we don’t have to hide to be holy.

Enoch and Noah were both husbands and fathers. They must have had careers or businesses they engaged in to sustain their families. And they both lived in corrupt societies too. They are proofs that Christians can have contacts without contamination. As a matter of fact, the people in Noah’s society were so terrible that God could no longer put up with their wickedness. He had to wipe them off!

Yet, in that kind of environment, we have it on record that these men walked with God.

“…Enoch walked with God…” Gen.5:24.

“…Noah walked with God” Gen.6:9.

Dear Christian entrepreneur, your corrupt work/business environment won’t stand as an excuse. In spite of it, you can still have and maintain a genuine, qualitative walk with God. Enoch and Noah are witnesses that, as Christians, we don’t have to hide to be holy.
