Samsung unveils Galaxy J2 Core, its first Android Go phone

Samsung has unveiled its first Android Go smartphone, the Galaxy J2 Core.

The device runs Android 8.0 Go Edition, which is optimised for devices with low amounts of RAM.

“The Galaxy J2 Core offers a complete smartphone experience, incorporating some of the key features available on high-end devices with improved battery, storage, and performance,” said Samsung.

It features an Exynos 7570 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of internal storage. Front and rear cameras, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, and a 2,600mAh battery are also included.

This is all interacted with through a 5-inch TFT display.

The Galaxy J2 Core will initially be available in Malaysia and India from 24 August 2018, and additional markets in the future. No pricing information was supplied.
