The desire of Lagos State Government to promote Public-Private Partnership in its Greening Project has further received an appreciable boost as the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK) brought into its fold more reputable organisations to drive its quest for a greener environment.

A statement issued today by the General Manager of the Agency, Mrs Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola, said the greening project is rapidly gaining significance in the State as more corporate entities continue to key into the initiative of adopting strategic locations for beautification and maintenance.

She confirmed that notable organisations that have joined others in amplifying the sustainable greening project across the State include Access Bank Plc, who have adopted Mobolaji Bank-Anthony stretch, from Maryland down to General Hospital, Ikeja; Guinea Insurance Plc which opted to beautify the site at Jibowu under bridge including Jibowu Recreational Park, Yaba, while the maintenance of Tunji Braithwaite Park will henceforth be carried out by Aiteo Group PLC.

“The landscaping and beautification of Alfred Riwane Median from Falomo through Osborne Road, Ikoyi will be carried out by Sterling Assets Management and Trust Ltd; Ademola Adetokunbo Median in Victoria Island has been adopted for beautification by Alpha Morgan Capital Ltd, while Hills Harvest Ltd and Investment One Financial Services Ltd will landscape and beautify the fitness Bar at QMB Road along Lekki-Ajah Expressway and Ahmadu Bello Triangular lay-by respectively”, she disclosed.

The General Manager further stressed that with over 40 corporate institutions investing in the management of several open places across the State at no cost to the government, the adventure towards an enterprising and smart society is fast becoming a reality.

“The impetus of corporate entities to invest in the greening projects of the State is inadvertently connecting citizens to greater opportunities and remarkably enthroning seamless development across the State”, Adebiyi-Abiola declared.

Adebiyi-Abiola pointed out that as more institutions are embracing the commitment of the State Government to bequeath a greener and sustainable environment for the wellbeing of the citizenry, the public-private synergy remains the most veritable platform for creating an enduring investment in the greening project.

While applauding the unalloyed contributions of organisations that have identified themselves with the greening program, the LASPARK Boss encouraged other corporate establishments to align with LASPARK in order to achieve wider coverage and at the same time boost their returns on investment.

She noted that this collaborative effort will go a long way at achieving the overall objective of the State Government of mitigating the effect of climate change and its attendant global warming.
