MTV Base debuts ‘Behind The Story’ with Sammy Walsh

Do you think you know some of your favourite celebrity well enough? Think again! Just maybe you don’t. That is why you cannot miss MTV Base’s new programme content, Behind The Story.

The show hosted by MTV Base’s delectable VJ, Sammy Walsh, debuts in Nigeria for the very first time. It will feature some of the biggest names in the Nigerian entertainment industry as they share personal stories not known to fans before now. Have you heard any controversial stories or scandals about your favourite celebrity? Then Behind The Story is a must watch. Get the juiciest gists as celebrities tell it all. The show will also highlight the grass to grace stories of these talented stars as they take us all back to the hoods where their careers took off.

This first season will see Sammy sit with talented artistes such as Dammy Krane, Ycee, Seun Kuti, Adekunle Gold, Patoranking and many others as they share their stories.

Solafunmi Oyeneye, the Senior Channel Manager of MTV Base, says Behind The Story’s debut season is not only thoroughly enlightening but also filled with a number of conversation starters.

“As Nigeria’s leading music and lifestyle channel, we understand the need to continually offer our audience exciting and engaging content. In a fast-paced, story-filled industry where a lot is happening per time, and the urge by our audience to know their favourite celebrities better, Behind The Story, has been curated specifically to fulfil that need. We are working tirelessly to ensure that every episode of Behind The Story from when it premieres is a most memorable one” she says. “I believe that Behind The Story will shed more light on most of the newsworthy events that have rocked Nigeria’s entertainment scene.”

She says that developing the episodes alongside the featured artistes added an extra layer of authenticity and creativity to the content. “We visited a number of locations pivotal to the stories told during the show, so viewers can have an immersive experience in each of the episodes.”

The programme premieres on Tuesday, the 26th of March at 6:05 pm. The first episode will feature Nigerian pop singer, Dammy Krane, as he shares more on his controversial 2017 run-in with the US authorities.

Subsequent episodes of the show will also feature celebrities share the stories of their biggest career moments as well as take their fans on a never-before-seen journey back to the places where their careers started.
