Mercedes-Benz continues to introduce innovative convenience and safety technologies across all model lines. These include the revolutionary Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) with Voice Control, MBUX Interior Assistant and the expanded functionalities of the ENERGIZING Comfort system that helps create a relaxing atmosphere to reduce driver stress and increase alertness, ultimately allowing the driver to focus on the road. Revolutionary new engine and suspension technologies further enhance efficiency and improve everything from the vehicle’s comfort and off-road capabilities to dynamic handling.

An SUV for Family and Friends

The all-new Mercedes-Benz GLB, available for the first time globally and for the U.S. market, is a versatile SUV with aggressive proportions and a strong off-road character. With a powerful and efficient four-cylinder engine, intuitively operable infotainment system, Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX), progressive interior design and advanced technology, available driver assistance systems, available 4MATIC all-wheel drive and extensive standard equipment, the GLB demonstrates the strength of the current generation of Mercedes-Benz compact vehicles. The GLB is the first SUV in the compact class from Mercedes-Benz to offer an optionally available third row with seating for up to seven passengers.

SUV trendsetter completely reconceived

Mercedes-Benz pioneered the premium SUV segment in 1997 with the launch of the M-Class, and this highly successful SUV continues to redefine the segment to this day. Since the fall of 2015, the M-Class transitioned to the current GLE nameplate, emphasizing its positioning as an SUV in the E-Class family. The new Mercedes-Benz GLE has a wealth of innovations. For example, E-ACTIVE BODY CONTROL is a 48-volt active suspension system and a world first, while the driver assistance systems take another step forward with Active Stop-and-Go Assist. The interior is even more spacious and comfortable with an optional third-row seat. The infotainment system has larger screens, a full-colour head-up display and the new MBUX Interior Assistant, which can recognize hand and arm movements and support operating intentions. The exterior design not only exudes presence and power but also sets a new standard for aerodynamics in the SUV segment. The GLE receives a new range of engines and the new 4MATIC system ensures great agility on the road and superior performance on rough terrain.

The S-Class of SUVs

The all-new Mercedes-Benz GLS is the largest and most luxurious SUV in the Mercedes-Benz product portfolio, and this latest generation offers even more space, comfort and luxury than the highly successful previous generation. The GLS is the S-Class among SUVs, combining top-of-the-line luxury and impressive levels of comfort for up to seven passengers with agile dynamics and extensive safety systems. For the first time, the GLS now offers a newly available six-seat option with Captain’s Chairs. Built in the U.S. at the Mercedes-Benz factory in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the new-generation GLS also introduces a new 4.0-litre V8 Biturbo engine with EQ Boost and an onboard electrical system for immediate, smooth power delivery and high levels of efficiency. This sophisticated SUV now also offers the latest technology from Mercedes-Benz with its redesigned interior that includes the revolutionary infotainment system called Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX). This game-changing system offers intelligent Voice Control and Natural Language Understanding with dual 12.3″ digital displays with touchscreen and augmented reality (AR) video for navigation. Additional innovations also include the ENERGIZING COMFORT system, as well as the new intelligent chassis with 48-volt technology that offers increased efficiency and comfort – currently the only one of its kind and the most advanced system on the market. New Executive Rear Seating packages also offer increased comfort for rear passengers.

Upgrades to the entire GLC Family

The Mercedes-Benz GLC is currently the top-selling model for Mercedes-Benz USA, and for 2020 the redesigned GLC continues to set benchmarks for the ride, handling, safety, technology and comfort. Meanwhile, the GLC Coupe skillfully and intricately combines the sportiness of a coupe with the functionality of an SUV, perfectly suited for individuals who seek a vehicle with extraordinary looks and pioneering technology. Innovative technologies, intelligent driver assistance systems and a newly enhanced engine make the GLC a paragon of sportiness, safety and efficiency. The revolutionary Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) multimedia system impresses with intuitive and versatile operating options and an optimized Voice Control system that brings the GLC in line with the latest technological innovations from Mercedes-Benz. The GLC 300 SUV and Coupe models will also be equipped with a new 2.0-litre inline 4-cylinder engine with more output and greater efficiency, capable of 255 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque (+14 hp compared to its predecessor).

Mercedes-AMG continues to blur the traditional line between performance cars and versatile utility vehicles with its high-performance family of AMG models. The redesigned GLC 63 SUV and GLC 63 S Coupe deliver high performance from an incredible hand-built Biturbo V8 engine in a stylish, mid-size SUV or Coupe package. The sporty and track-ready Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S represents the highest performance level in its category: it is currently the fastest SUV in the world, as measured on the North Loop of the famous Nurburgring circuit. Featuring the new dynamic handling control of AMG DYNAMICS and an electronically limited slip differential, the GLC 63 models also benefit from the new innovative MBUX interface, intelligent voice comprehension and gesture control, an updated and eye-catching exterior design and additional standard equipment compared to its predecessor. The newly available AMG DRIVE UNIT buttons on the AMG steering wheel allow the driver to individually program AMG-specific functions to be accessible, which allows the driver to keep their hands on the steering wheel at all times. The redesigned Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 models continue to deliver AMG’s hallmark promise of Driving Performance, without compromising high utility and functionality.

Expansion of AMG GT Family

The full AMG GT family is redesigned for 2020, while the GT R family is expanded with the addition of the first-ever GT R PRO and GT R Roadster.

The top athlete from Affalterbach now comes to the starting line honed even further. In addition to exterior updates, the two-door AMG GT Coupes and Roadsters are now fitted with the AMG DYNAMICS integrated driving control system for added agility, a new AMG Performance steering wheel, the center console with innovative display buttons and a fully digital instrument display with exclusive AMG “Supersport” display style on the instrument cluster.

Experience gained from the AMG GT3 and AMG GT4 racing cars was influential in the development of the awe-inspiring AMG GT R PRO. Numerous details of the AMG GT R PRO were modified to deliver even greater racetrack performance: lightweight construction, a new suspension and aerodynamic fine-tuning result in increased downforce overall. Lightweight-design wheels also contribute to the enhanced driving dynamics and faster lap times on the racetrack.

With the new GT R Roadster, Mercedes-AMG is combining its top model, brimming with motorsport technology, with the freedom of open-air driving experience – crowning the portfolio of open-top sports cars. The new AMG GT R Roadster feels equally at home on winding racetracks, prestigious boulevards and beautiful coastal roads. The 577-hp Handcrafted AMG V8 Biturbo engine, adjustable coil-over suspension with active rear axle steering, active aerodynamics and intelligent lightweight construction form the foundations for highly dynamic handling. This breathtaking two-seater is limited to 750 units worldwide.

New ‘35’ Models from Mercedes-AMG

The introduction of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class Sedan last year marked the first- ever A-Class variant for the U.S. market, and the first A-Class Sedan available globally. Featuring a newly developed, AMG-enhanced, 2.0L Turbo four-cylinder engine, variable all-wheel drive, and 0-60 performance in 4.7 seconds, the highly anticipated new AMG A 35 Sedan boats exhilarating driving performance and is ideal for customers looking for the sportiness typical of Mercedes-AMG, combined with a comfortable amount of space and excellent versatility for everyday use.

Sporty, stylish, intelligent and dynamic–the new Mercedes-AMG CLA 35 combines AMG’s tradition of Driving Performance, innovative technology with a bold and iconic 4-door coupe design, adding the exciting characteristics typical of Mercedes- AMG to the already highly appealing CLA coupe.

Expanded Safety Technologies

Mercedes-Benz continues to expand its sophisticated driver assistance systems across various model lines. The latest generation of Intelligent Drive, available only on the GLE and GLS, now includes Active Stop-and-Go Assist, a new turning function with Active Brake Assist with Cross-Traffic Function and an added Exit Warning as a part of Active Blind Spot Assist.

Active Stop-and-Go Assist supports the driver with navigating through traffic jams and stop-and-go traffic by recognizing traffic stops at an earlier stage and reducing the vehicle speed as a precaution before the driver may become aware of the hazard. When driving in traffic, Active Stop-and-Go Assist can markedly reduce the driver’s workload and stress level: at speeds up to around 37 mph and where there are clear lane markings, the system supports with keeping the vehicle in its lane and maintaining a safe distance between other vehicles. The system also enables the vehicle to accelerate again after coming to a complete stop for up to one minute at a time.

With the additional turning function of Active Brake Assist with Cross-Traffic Function, if there is a danger of a collision with oncoming traffic when making a turn, the vehicle can brake at the speeds typical of such manoeuvres. Braking intervention takes place if the driver signals the intention to turn (with the turn signals) and the vehicle can brake to a stop before crossing the lane marking.

In addition, new vehicles equipped with Blind Spot Assist include an added Vehicle Exit Warning function, which can lower the risk of a collision with other road users after the vehicle is parked, such as passing cyclists. Vehicle Exit Warning monitors the blind spot when the vehicle is at a standstill or parked, and can warn the driver of approaching vehicles, motorcycles or bicycles when opening the door. This function is even active for up to three minutes after switching off the engine. The warning appears in the exterior mirrors and is audibly signalled via the instrument cluster.
