Ondo Pupils Invent Machine, Wins Award In Turkey

The forces of the Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu government to improve functional education are already generating results. 

Two students of St. Peter’s Unity Secondary School, Akure, the Ondo State capital, Aro Elizabeth and Ojo Victor, who represented Nigeria at the OKSEF-International Science Fair in Turkey, came second among 27 nations in the South Science Fair that took place between June 10 and 19, 2019.

Similarly, two students of Fiwasaye Girls Grammar School, also in Akure, have qualified to represent the country in the Entrepreneurial competition at Houston Texas, the USA in September this year.

Other participants from Dominion Science, Owo, Greater Tomorrow Primary School, Ikare-Akoko,  Greater Tomorrow International College, Arigidi-Akoko, Model Secondary School, Oba-Ile and Model Secondary School, Akure also won trophies, Gold Medals and other gifts.

Speaking at the Governor’s Office during the formal presentation of the trophies won by students from the state at various national and international competitions, the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Pastor Femi Agagu, thanked Governor Akeredolu for the opportunity given the students to participate in the national and international competitions through his approvals.

He urged the people of the state to continue to support the Akeredolu administration to deliver dividends of democracy to the people through the promotion of functional education.

While receiving the state-contingent, Governor Akeredolu specially commended them for doing the state proud.

The Governor promised to give scholarships to all students who won trophies and awards for the state in the various national and international competitions.

Governor Akeredolu, who assured the students of the state support until they attain the greater height they deserve, admonished them not to relent in their efforts but continue to keep the flag flying.
