Leading Nigerian in-door advertising firm, Nimbus media Limited, has disclosed it is working out plans to commence full-scale manufacturing of digital display screens for the Nigerian market saying that the move will further enhance the digitalisation process of the Nigerian outdoor advertising sector.

Already the company has entered into a joint partnership arrangement with some foreign digital technology developers with the intention to commence local manufacturing of the digital screens for the benefit of brand owners and the industry at large.

Making this disclosure was the Managing Director/CEO of the company, Tayo Osikoya while speaking at the event launch of the company’s set of digitalised screen technologies at the Ikeja Malls in Lagos.

Addressing members of the press shortly after the unveiling, the company‘s boss explained that the digital screen technology was a foreign device over which the company had invested so much upon through payment of periodic subscriptions.

He added that going forth the company was considering going into full-scale manufacturing of the digital display screens locally so as to avoid continued cost wastage on foreign exchange payments adding that over a period of the next one year and a half, the manufacturing process would have fully commenced.

It will cost a lot of money to develop this kind of technology. It is an investment we have to undertake and we are not just doing so to benefit ourselves. It’s something that will be open to third parties as well and other people who run advertising screen in-door and outdoor can also benefit from the technology.

“For brand users, I will say it’s an added value. There is no massive extra cost to them whatsoever. We as a company just like to improve on our offerings. This will come as part of our normal offering.  So, you don’t need to pay so much extra even though you might pay a little bit extra because,  obviously,  there is some cost implication to installing this,” he explained.

Commenting on the unique selling point of the new digital technology, the indoor specialist highlighted on the measurability of the device which he said was a rare quality to find present in the industry, adding that the company would continue to improve upon the aesthetic quality of the product.

“I will say the unique selling point of this board speaks for itself. As an added value to the technology, as far as I know, no other unit like this has this kind of features currently in Nigeria. So, this is something that is unique for now and we will keep improving on the technology from time to time.
