    consumer goods Stock market halts two days downtrend, gains 1.04%

    Transactions on the local bourse today (Thursday) closed negative with a 3.72% decline in the market performance index. Consequently, the market breadth closed negative, recording 3 gainers against 44 losers.

    In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) decreased by 815.91 absolute points, representing a dip of 3.72% to close at 22,695.88 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size shed N456.96 billion, representing a dip of 3.72% to close at N11.83 trillion.

    CAVERTON emerged as the top gainer while NB & 7 others emerged as top losers.

    The downtrend was impacted by loses recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; NB (-10.00%), FIDELITYBK (-10.00%), ZENITHBANK (-9.96%), MTNN (-9.95%), HONYFLOUR (-9.78%), WAPCO (-9.70%), UBA (-9.70%), ACCESS (-9.30%), ETI (-9.28%), and FBNH (-9.09%).

    The Naira at the official window on Friday closed unchanged 306.95/$1, against yesterday’s position.

    The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N368.00, traded high at N368.50 and eventually closed at N368.33, representing a 0.43% depreciation against yesterday’s closing position. A total of $498.13 million was transacted through the I&E window today.

    MONEY MARKET

    Overnight(O/N) rate closed at 13.83%, representing a 0.57% depreciation against yesterday’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 12.83%, representing 0.97% depreciation against yesterday’s position.

Similarly, Market Capitalization closed unchanged at N508.76 billion, against yesterday’s position. Similarly, the aggregate volume and value increased by 130.82% and 758.34% respectively, as investors traded a total of 1,647,933 volume of shares, valued at N158.38 million in 14 deals.
