The Executive Governor of Taraba state, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku has reaffirmed the commitment of his administration in making sure the people of Taraba are protected from the pandemic caused by the ravaging Coronavirus across the world and in Nigeria presently.

Governor Ishaku made the reaffirmation via his official Facebook account today 24th March 2020.

“I want the good people of Taraba to know, there’s no single report of anyone affected with the CoronaVirus in our State, as I see it circulating on some Social Media Platforms today.”

“I want to firmly assure all Tarabans that we have been, and will continue to work hard, putting machinery in place to ensure all Tarabans are covered in all areas and at all levels.”

“I would like to remind you of some symptoms of the infection which include: Fever, sore throat, difficulty in breathing, catarrh or frequent sneezing.”

“Any citizen with these symptoms should self-isolate and invite our Emergency Response Team for assessment and follow-up. It will be treated confidentially.”

“I urge the good people of Taraba, most importantly the gentlemen of the press to exercise a high level of professionalism in their patterns of reporting this Global pandemic. It’s not profitable in any way to politicize reports, causing panic among the citizens.”

“This disease has no political colouration. The pandemic does not spare those to be infected along political lines; therefore, we should put aside our political and religious affiliations and tackle this issue as an existential threat.”

“Together we can, together is easier.”

“God bless Taraba State, God Bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

It could be recalled that Governor Ishaku yesterday approved the composition of a technical committee to help control and sensitise the good people of Taraba state on the outbreak of the Coronavirus of which the committee is headed by the Commissioner for Health, Dr Innocent Vakai as Chairman.
