The Nigerian bourse today (Thursday) closed on a positive note as the All-Share-Index appreciated by 0.20% to sustain previous positive sentiment to five consecutive trading day. The uptrend was supported by value appreciation on some bellwether stocks like MTN Nigeria, ZENITH BANK, GTBank and 16  others.

Consequently, the market breadth closed on a positive note, recording 19 gainers as against 6 losers.

In summary, the All-Share Index (ASI) increased by 51.02 absolute points, representing a growth of 0.20% to close at 25,511.02 points. Similarly, the overall Market Capitalization size gained N26.62 billion, representing an increase of 0.20% to close at N13.31 trillion.

UAC-PROP emerged as the top gainer while NEIMETH emerged as the top loser.

The upturn was impacted by gains recorded in large and medium capitalized stocks, amongst which are; VITAFOAM (+5.09%), ZENITH BANK (+1.47%), UBA (+0.78%), MTNN (+0.51%) and GUARANTY (+0.19%).

The Naira at the official window today (Thursday) closed at 379.00/$1, unchanged against the previous day’s position.

The Investors and Exporters (I&E) FX window opened at N386.48, traded high at N395.13, and eventually closed at N386.25, representing a 0.06% depreciation against the previous day’s closing position. A total of $38.46 million was transacted through the I&E window today.

MONEY MARKET

Overnight(O/N) rate today (Thursday) closed at 3.25%, representing a 2.08% depreciation against the previous day’s closing position, while Open Buy-Back (OBB) rate closed at 2.50%, representing a 2.17% depreciation against the previous day’s position.

The NASD OTC market today (Thursday) closed as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) closed at 714.21, representing a 0.67% appreciation against the previous day’s closing position. Similarly, Market Capitalization gained N3.50 million closed at N524.64 billion, representing against the previous day’s closing position. Consequently, the aggregate volume and value increased by 626.77% and 5.63% respectively, as investors traded a total of 11,890 shares, worth N518,447.50 in 3 deal.
