Ogun State Ministry of Culture and Tourism, will on Sunday, September 27, 2020 join the rest of the world to celebrate the 43rd edition of World Tourism Day.

A statement by the Commissioner in the Ministry, Dr  Oluwatoyin Taiwo indicated that the 2020 edition with the theme, “Tourism and Rural Development” will hold virtual on Zoom by 11 a. m.  in order to adhere to COVID- 19 protocols.

The statement indicated that the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), set aside the day to celebrate tourism annually, with the aim of creating awareness on the significant roles tourism plays in local and international communities, adding that this year’s theme would highlight the economic and social roles of tourism in rural development.

It further stated that the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun would be the Guest of Honour, and the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, as the Special guest and keynote speaker.

Total Debt Stock Hits N31.01 Trillion as Nigeria Receives USD3.36 Billion Loan from IMF

Fitch Ratings’ new interactive country-by-country map of bank rating trends shows that the balance of Outlooks globally has turned sharply negative since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. The proportion of bank ratings on Negative Outlook or Rating Watch Negative (RWN) shot up to over 60% at end-1H20 from 13% at end-2019. The proportion on RWN was 10%, the highest in recent years, reflecting near-term risks to many banks’ ratings. There were virtually no ratings on Positive Outlook or Rating Watch Positive.
