Top Three Google Play Games Hit 70.7M Downloads In January 2021

The mobile gaming industry is having explosive growth as three google play games hit over 70.7M  downloads in January 2021.

According to data presented by Safe Betting Sites, the top three Google Play games hit 70.7 million downloads in January. With more than 30 million downloads that month, Among Us ranked as the most popular game among Android users.

Hyper-casual Games Top the Google Play Ranking

In January, mobile games saw the return of hyper-casual titles. InnerSloth’s breakout hit Among Us ended a fantastic year by adding an estimated 48 million new mobile downloads in December, most of which came through Google Play. AppFigures data revealed the title was the most downloaded app on both Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store that month.

The Airnow data show the impressive number of downloads continued in 2021, with the cross-platform title generating 30.7 million downloads from Android users.

Join Clash 3D was the second-most popular gaming app in Google Play Store that month. Statistics show the title had over 20.6 million downloads in January or 10 million less than the leading Android game.

The Airnow data show Sushi Roll 3D was the third-leading gaming app in Google Play Store in January. In just 30 days, the title was downloaded 19.3 million times.

Voodoo the Most-Downloaded Publisher in Google Play Store, Moon Active Tops in Revenue.

Analyzed by publishers, Voodoo topped the Google Play Store ranking in January. Statistics show the titles of the French video game developer and publisher were downloaded 107 million times that month, or 40% more than the other leading names.

Second-ranked Lion Studios hit 76.6 million downloads from Android users that month. Casual Azur Games, SayGames, and SuperSonic Studios LTD followed with 61.1million, 57.4 million, and 44.1 million downloads, respectively.

However, the charts show different ranking when it comes to revenues. In January, Moon Active was the top gaming app publisher on Google Play Store worldwide with $104.1 million in revenue. Playrix ranked second with $77.8 million in revenue from Android users. King, Garena International Private Limited and SuperCell followed with $52.2 million, $51.6 million, and $51.4 million in revenues that month.
