Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun says the ongoing Agro-Allied Cargo Airport located at Ilishan-Remo, Ikenne Local Government Area, would be ready for commissioning by the end of 2022.
The governor who spoke on Saturday at Ikenne as part of the ongoing campaign of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the July 24 LG poll, said he remains committed to the project despite stiff resistance in some quarters.
The governor made case for an Agro-Allied Cargo airport located at Ilishan-Remo, Ikenne Local Government Area, while Amosun strongly backed a passenger airport located at Wasimi, Ewekoro Local Government Area of the state.
Addressing party stalwarts and residents of Ikenne LG, Abiodun said he would not bow to the opposition. He said he remains the governor and “the buck stops at his table.” The governor later led his campaign train to the site of the airport project, with the promise that it would be ready for use next year.
The Governor said his administration has reconstructed over 270kilometres roads and rehabilitated about 100 Primary Healthcare Centres across the state.
Speaking earlier at Odogbolu, Abiodun declared that his administration would soon set up a Special Task Force to tackle cultism in the state. He said his administration would not allow cultists and other criminal elements to undermine the development of the State.
