Amazon’s Alexa Heads To Space

NASA’s next-generation rocket is going high-tech.

The spacecraft, which will make its debut on an upcoming test launch to the moon, is equipped with Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant as well as Cisco’s Webex platform.

If both features work — while the spacecraft has Wi-Fi, space travel makes connectivity spotty — they could be used in future missions to Mars and beyond.

The idea is that Alexa would provide astronauts with information and “companionship,” while Webex would enable video conferencing with those back on Earth.
