IBM Appoints New General Manager For Europe, Middle East & Africa

Ana Paula Assis, General Manager for IBM Europe, Middle East, and Africa, was appointed by IBM . Marta Martnez Alonso, who is retiring from IBM after 19 years of service, is succeeded by her.

Ms. Assis, an eminent business leader with extensive international experience in strategic business development, transformation, and change management in multicultural environments, will be in charge of the company’s operations, driving revenue growth, client satisfaction, and employee engagement across a region of more than 100 countries.

Ms. Assis has held several other executive positions with IBM over the course of her 25-year career, including General Manager for the Latin American region, where she was responsible for driving sustained growth and increasing market share. She has also held a number of strategic business positions in both the United States and China.

Ms. Assis has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Fundaço Getulio Vargas, a postgraduate degree in business management from Fundaço Dom Cabral, and an MBA from Fundaço Dom Cabral in Brazil.
