Contrary to social media speculation, Guinness Nigeria Plc. management has stated that the company has no plans to leave Nigeria.
Mrs. Ayodele Alabi, Corporate Communications Manager at Guinness Nigeria Plc., revealed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Thursday in Lagos.
Alabi stated that the company’s offices in Nigeria and Ghana were still fully operational, and that it would be foolish and counterproductive to shut them down, further dispelling any notion of surrender.
Mr Baker Magunda, Managing Director of Guiness, also dismissed the ignominious story as unfounded and in contrast to the company’s steadfast commitment to branching out and dutifully serving its ever-nourishing consumers and stakeholders, particularly on the African continent.
He stated that the company’s financial performance for the first half of 2021 revealed that operating profits increased by 266 percent to N13.6 billion.
“We implore our employees, stakeholders, and members of the public to disregard this false, malicious, and misleading publication, which was never issued by our management.”
“Guinness Nigeria has confidence in the Nigerian economy, and as we have done for the past seventy-one years, we will continue to be a major player in the country by continually investing, developing capabilities, and growing brands that best meet the needs of consumers, while also positively impacting lives, communities, and the environment,” he assured.
